Marty Amsler

Marty Amsler(Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, Green Bay Packers, 1970)

Marty Amsler was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys as an offensive guard out of the University of Evansville in 1965. He later played defensive end for Chicago, Cincinnati and Green Bay from 1967 to 1970. In 1979, he was inducted into the University of Evansville Hall of Fame and in 2001, he was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame.

Marty has spent 35 years working in the environmental field, during which time he has traveled to 45 states and spent eight months on an overseas assignment in Amsterdam. During his stay in Europe, he traveled and participated in a worldwide environmental trade show in Budapest. He currently owns his own environmental business: A & H Environmental Services.

Marty currently lives in Evansville, Ind. with his wife, Jeanne, and is serving his first term on the NFLPA Former Players Board of Directors. He also serves on the Bucket Committee, a committee that focuses on identifying and addressing former players’ issues and concerns.

Reggie Berry

(San Diego Chargers, 1975)

Reggie Berry was born in Minneapolis, Minn. As the consummate high school athlete, Reggie led his football, baseball and track teams to state championships and received “All Conference” awards in football and basketball. Reggie played at California State University at Long Beach, where he made “All Conference” as a defensive back.

After his football career, Reggie returned to school and received a degree in Sociology and while seeking a teaching credential in Social Science, he taught goal-setting to migrant students. Later he founded a new intercept program called Goals For Life, that is directed at all students of any class or ethnicity. He has served as the Executive Director of Goals For Life for 21 years.

Reggie sits on the Board of the Aquatic Foundation of Los Angeles, the Board of Trustees for Coast Plaza Doctors Hospital, the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Centers for Alcohol and Drug Abuse, the Board of Directors of the Scholars Learning Academy and the Board of the Norwalk Chambers of Commerce.

Reggie resides in Los Angeles, Calif. and is currently serving his first term as a member of the NFLPA Former Players Board of Directors.

Tony Bouie

Tony Bouie(Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1997)

Tony Bouie was born and raised in New Orleans, La. While obtaining his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media Arts from the University of Arizona, Tony excelled in football and baseball and was a Pac-10 Champion in both sports. He also was a First-Team All-Pac-10 and a consensus All American in football and has been on the cover of Sports Illustrated. He was inducted into the University of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame in 2000 and has his name in the Ring of Honor on the facade of the Arizona Football Stadium. 

He began pursuit of his first master's degree while still playing in college and completed his Master of Arts in Literacy and Education from the University of Arizona in 1997. After his four-year playing career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tony pursued and acquired a Masters of Business Administration from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University in 2005. While getting his MBA, Tony wrote a business plan for the development of a stackable cup that dispenses with an attached lid. After receiving customer interest in a multi-billion dollar industry, he raised private funds to start his company. Tony is Chairman and CEO of Halo Cups, Inc., a distributor of the patented and award-winning SwoopCup. He also serves on the national board of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He has served on the University of Arizona National Alumni Board of Directors and is past Vice President of the University of Arizona Maricopa County Black Alumni Association.

In December 2007, Tony was diagnosed with Stage 4 Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma. Tony underwent chemotherapy in the spring of 2008 to eliminate the cancer from his body. As a cancer survivor, he knows tomorrow is not promised and now dedicates his life to the service of others.

Tony resides with his wife and three children in Anthem, Ariz., where he is an active member of Christ Church of the Valley in Peoria. He currently is serving his first term on the NFLPA Former Players Board of Directors.

Nolan Harrison

Nolan Harrison(L.A./Oakland Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Redskins, 2000)

Nolan Harrison III played in the NFL for 10 years with the L.A./Oakland Raiders, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Washington Redskins. During his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers he began working with and became an agent with Northwestern Mutual Financial Services and after retirement, held the position of Vice President and Wealth Strategist with Northern Trust Bank and the position of Vice President and Financial Advisor in the Global Wealth Management division of Morgan Stanley in Scottsdale, Ariz. Nolan has also been an owner of a national franchise business. Nolan is currently a Vice President at First Midwest Bank, the largest privately owned bank in Illinois, in the Trust and Investment Management Division. Nolan holds Series 7, 66, 31, and Life/Disability Insurance licenses.

Since receiving his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 1990, Nolan has built a career on and off the field based on hard work, strong core values and a commitment to excellence. Nolan’s accolades range from his Distinguished Alumni Award from the Delta Chi fraternity to his community involvement. Nolan serves on the Board of Management for the Fry Family YMCA in Naperville, Ill., and serves in the Naperville Sunrise Rotary. His additional boardwork includes the YMCA, United Way, Boys and Girls Clubs, Scottsdale Human Relations Commission and the Arthritis National Research Foundation.

Nolan is serving his second three-year term on the NFLPA Former Players Board of Directors, is Chairman of the Health Committee, and has served as the President and Vice President of the Phoenix Chapter of the NFL Former Players Association. Jim McFarland

Jim McFarland(Buffalo Bills, St. Louis Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, 1975)

Jim McFarland is a former state senator who represented Lincoln’s 28th legislative district from 1986 to 1991. A 1970 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Sociology, he also holds a UN-L master’s degree in Sociology of Education and a J.D. from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, N.Y., where he served as President of the Cornell Law Student Association and Student Director of Law, Ethics and Religion program.

Jim was drafted as a professional football player in 1970, playing five years for the St. Louis Cardinals and one year for the Miami Dolphins. After retiring from football, he returned to Nebraska to teach and coach. In 1980, he joined the law firm of Crosby, Guenzel, Davis, Kessner & Kuester. He affiliated with the Burns Law Office from 1982 to 1997 and currently practices at the McFarland Law Office. From 1993 to 1998, he served as a Judge of the Nebraska Commission of Industrial Relations.

Jim resides in Lincoln, Neb. with his wife, Dr. Kimberly Kay McFarland, and is currently serving his second term on the NFLPA Former Players Board of Directors.

Erik McMillan

Eric McMillan(New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, 1994)

Erik McMillan, a VP Partner with the company Fantappers LLC, is the son of former St. Louis Cardinals Pro Bowl tackle, Ernie McMillan, and cousin to Dallas Cowboys’ first-round pick in 1981, Howard Richards. Erik was born in St. Louis, Mo. and grew up in Silver Spring, Md., where he played high school football for the John F. Kennedy High School “Cavaliers,” earning All-County and All-Metropolitan honors. He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, playing defensive end and later defensive back while earning a degree in business administration in 1987. In 1988, McMillan furthered his education while he played football professionally, earning his master’s degree in Education Administration in two years from Fordham University-Lincoln Center. Erik is currently working towards earning his doctoral degree in Education Administration.  

Erik was drafted in the third round of the 1988 NFL Draft by the New York Jets, where he played until 1992. He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs, where he ended his career in 1993. McMillan was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1988 and 1989. In 1988, he was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press.

Erik is a member of the NFLPA Former Players Atlanta Chapter where he served as secretary for two consecutive terms. Erik is currently serving his second term on the NFLPA Former Players Board of Directors.

Leonard Wheeler

Leonard Wheeler(Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings, Carolina Panthers, 2001)

Leonard Wheeler attended Troy University in Alabama on a full football scholarship and received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 3rd round of the 1992 draft. He also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings before he retired with the Carolina Panthers in 2001. Cherishing his long-standing relationship with the NFL, Leonard remains involved as a former player. Leonard is the Former President of the NFLPA Former Players Charlotte Chapter and serves as the only retired player on the financial committee that regulates over 460 financial advisors for all current and former NFL players. 

Leonard is certified in Emotional Intelligence as a mentor through EQ Mentor, certified in Sports Axiology, working with one of the top coaching companies in the country, Coachville. He is a columnist for Savior Faire magazine, which goes out to more than 40,000 readers. He is also the President of The National Business Association, a networking platform for professional athletes and business professionals (www.TNBA.net.) Leonard serves on the board of directors for the "Youth Commission International" that touches 132 cities in 32 states to better educate our youth.

Leonard resides in Charlotte, N.C. with his wife and daughter. He is currently serving his first term on the NFLPA Former Players Board of Directors.
